Las Vegas Betting Scene Shaken Up By Adding NHL and NFL Teams

It was announced recently that the NFL would be relocating the Oakland Raiders to the city of Las Vegas. While this change won't occur until after the 2019 season, it is set to bring sweeping changes to the Sin City. This reflects a change of thinking amongst the professional sports leagues of America, as they thought that having a professional team in Vegas would cause a rise in gambling, and therefore illegal activity, because of the harsh gaming laws that America currently has. After the addition of a hockey team (The Golden Knights), and an NFL team (the Raiders), it is clear that the owners see the money that can be made in a tourist destination such as Las Vegas, Nevada.

I was born in Las Vegas, so this news was really cool to see. The gambling industry is only getting bigger, and this untested market this is Las Vegas will be tapped for all it worth. I see the additions of the Golden Knights and the Raiders will draw large crowds. The Raiders will be playing in a brand-new, domed stadium which will be an attraction for all, and the Golden Knights will be in the newly renovated T-Mobile Arena, which provides a supplementary experience for the avid hockey fan.

I believe that people will gamble on sporting events regardless if there are franchises in Las Vegas or not. In this day in age, the majority of wagers are placed online, which is a huge headache for US law enforcers. If the US Government were to relax their stance on sports gambling, which could even mean federal regulation, I think it would create the best possible environment for the average gambler, as they could bet legally, and without a sketchy sportsbook middle-manning the entire thing.
